Heart for Muslims 2019

Joy in suffering, boldness amid persecution —
The 2019 H4M Conference focuses on lessons from the church living in the midst of suffering and persecution within Muslim communities.

Nik and Ruth Ripken are mission veterans of 35 years with the International Mission Board, SBC. They have served in Malawi, South Africa, Kenya, Somalia, Germany, Ethiopia and the Middle East.  Nik has a B.A. in Religion and History from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky as well as a Masters and a Doctorate of Ministry from Southern Seminary. Ruth has a B.A. and a Masters in Education from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky.  Today, they serve as Global Missiologists.

The Holy Spirit led the Ripkens on a global pilgrimage to learn from believers in persecution.  Meeting over 600 believers in more than 70 countries — the Ripkens sat at their feet.  They learned from the suffering church how to thrive, not merely survive amid great suffering. In circumstances beyond their strength, these brothers and sisters modeled how to trust Jesus completely.

Dr. Nik Ripken is the featured speaker at the 2019 Heart for Muslims Conference. He will share stories and lessons, giving voice to these amazing believers who live in the midst of persecution.  The Ripken’s desire is to encourage believers to boldly follow Jesus, sharing their faith with others — no matter the cost.

Currently, Nik and Ruth spend much of their time teaching in churches and schools, with mission organizations and believers around the globe. Ruth considers it a blessing to help women lose their fear as they figure out how to connect and fall in love with the nations.  She especially loves to mentor women who serve in the Muslim world.

Nik’s most recent book is The Insanity of God: A True Story of Faith Resurrected.  In addition to being a prolific writer, Nik loves to read and tend garden. His greatest joy is being with TCKs (missionary kids). Nik and Ruth are the parents of three sons, two amazing daughters – in – love and a fantastic grandson.
